Wheres your Song?

One of the best things about having to come to California for work is the time difference. It makes me get up extra early, I get to spend much time with the Lord. I read Psalm 40 this am and one thought glared in my heart..... Where is my song? I started to think about how much I enjoy singing and how praise and worship encourages me and builds me up. The reason that it does is because it places my focus on where is should be... On GOD! Some song destroyers need to take notice in my life that they have to take the back seat to my song.

Paul and Silas new this song
David knew this song

The song God gives each of us, the song of adoration and love and hope and thanksgiving! Sing your song today, seek out what has taken your song. What has taken your joy and your peace. Give thanks with a grateful heart. Today my new song shall be sung!

People Need the Lord

John 15:5- I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

My heart is heavy this am because of all the things going on in the world right now. Hurricanes, political garbage, sickness, busy schedules, financial problems, the list can go on and on.

Simply put people need the Lord.

It is so easy to place God on the backburner.

Two years ago today, I did just that, I moved  my family to Texas to chase a title, to chase a 6 figure salary, to be held in high esteem, to puff my chest out. When we chose to chase other things rather than God we will find ourselves chasing idols rather than the GREAT I AM!

Oh friend, without HIM I can do nothing! I will chose HIM, I am NOTHING without HIM!

What are we choosing over the Lord today?

My life is so fulfilled when I chose HIM, HIS WAYS, HIHS WORD!

In His presence is fullness of Joy!

Psalm 16:11English Standard Version (ESV)
11 You make known to me the path of life;
    in your presence there is fullness of joy;
    at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Vessels Of Honor

Pastor Johnny spoke a great word this past week and I haven't been able to get away from it since then.

2Timothy 2:20-21 Amplified
20 Now in a large house there are not only vessels and objects of gold and silver, but also vessels and objects of wood and of earthenware, and some are for honorable (noble, good) use and some for dishonorable (ignoble, common). 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things [which are dishonorable—disobedient, sinful], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified [set apart for a special purpose and], useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

The underlined above places some responsibility on our behalf to take action against whatever that thing is that is dishonorable! Its not going to be us that overcomes or defeats it in our own strength but we do have a part to play in the process!
Notice why we are to go through the cleansing process..... to be set apart for a special purpose. What is he leading us to cleanse in order to be used in a special way? Im tired of the ordinary, the regular, the everyday vessel! I want to be used for a special purpose.

Think of the people who were used for GREAT things, SPECIAL things

Abraham was asked to give up Isaac.
Moses was asked to give up the palace.
Matthew was asked to give up being a tax collector
Peter was asked to give up fishing
Paul was asked to give up religious tradition

But oh what a special purpose he had for them, once they surrendered to Him!!!!

What is He asking you to give up or to cleanse yourself of? If we hear his voice and act upon it, the result is a VESSEL OF HONOR, fit for a special purpose.
