I think the heading of this post says it all for me this morning! I have about 5 things on my heart to share but I will try to limit them to two or maybe three :) First of all I cant begin to tell you how proud of my lil sister that I am, for taking a stand in her walk with the Lord. She definitely was in a situation that caused her to RTC ( Remember The Cross) and stood in a place of dilemma, chose carnality or Christ and she stood strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! Which leads me to my next area of sharing from Genesis 1. As I read a few passages from Genesis 1 I prayed this prayer," Lord show me something that will change my life." I think many times we get into Gods word out of duty or habit instead of expectation, this is what the Lord gave me to change my life------ Genesis 1:5 - And God CALLED the light day and dark night. Verse 8- And God CALLED the land heaven. Verse 10-And God CALLED the dry land earth!!! Ok you may be saying what are you trying to show us? Look at the words that I have CAPITALIZED. The word CALLED in all of the creation account gives me one life changing truth- HE GIVES US IDENTITY!! He named each aspect of what He created, He does the same for me and you. Not Shawn or Sue, Davy, Cindy, David, Deena or Virginia He calls us---- Friend, Forgiven, Free, Conqueror, Light, Children of God!!!! This will change the way that you see yourself and the way you see God! My sister didn't lose her identity when faced with temptation, when faced with a defining moment in her testimony. She knew that she did not have to do the things of the world to be accepted by the world, she simply remembered that her identity was one that was bought with a price. Without knowing it she preached a sermon with her life!! She sowed a seed which leads me to the last area of sharing-- Genesis 1:11- And God said," Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding SEED, ad the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose SEED is in itself, upon the earth and it was so. The earth was made to produce seeds, did you know that we also have the ability to produce seeds?? Each action we take, each word that we speak sows a seed and the seed must bear fruit and the fruit will be whatever kind of seed was sown. My sister sowed a seed in the midst of a carnal crowd and she was ridiculed and made fun of! You see those without the ability to produce good fruit are often jealous of the fruit bearing tree that produces the fruits of the Spirit! THis is why Jesus was ridiculed! I say to my sister Deena you go girl, keep sowing righteous seed, the rewards could be changed lives around you!!!
