What Do You Desire?
What a great weekend it was for me! The Men's Conference at FBCW was used to arrest my heart and get me to a deeper walk with the Lord and all I can say is thank you Jesus! I started this week with a desire to dig deep into Gods word, to help reconstruct the passion inside of me to want more, be more and achieve more for the kingdom of God and today's word was elementary but right on time. This week is vacation week for me and my family, what a great time to relax and unwind! Vacations many times change our focus and gives us a fresh start when we come to the end of the week. We need this time away from the commotions and the duties of life to simply recharge. Our spiritual lives should have a daily vacation from the distractions and barrages that will come our way! Why? To be refreshed, filled and empowered for the days at hand is vital to the christian life! Today my daughter Leah taught me something that I believe was straight from the Lords heart for me. This morning Leah continually came up to me, desiring to be held and to simply sit in my lap. She was relentless, nothing kept her from coming to me over and over again to sit with her Daddy! I welcomed her each time with open arms, I hugged and kissed her, read books to her and sowed into her life things that edified and taught her. It brought me to remembrance of several verses particularly Matthew 14:13- When Jesus heard of it He departed to a desert place. Oh friends this is where I want my heart to desire more than anything in this world--- to want to be alone and sitting in the lap of Jesus, needing edification, love, wisdom, and power to live a life that will stand for Him! It is only by DESIRING alone time with the Great I AM will we live a life that is great. It is only by DESIRING to sit in the Fathers mighty hand will will live victorious. You and I can not live this life for God if we do not spend time with God, the one that is able to fill us, direct us and build us up! May our hearts today desire, determine and dedicate to the Heavenly Father. He is waiting to embrace you!
