Complete Dependence
I awaken this morning with a fresh dependence on Christ alone! My heart pants after Him alone, He is where I desire to rest, my first love that showed me that despite my shortfalls He took the fall. Despite my lack, He is more than enough, regardless of my weaknesses He is a mighty conqueror. Even though my flesh and my heart fail, He is the STRENGTH I need. Here lies where our hearts should dwell.Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart fails: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Lets face it friends, we are not perfect, we are not sinless so ohhh do we need Him! God has been showing me lately that if it doesnt take God to do it, I dont need it! We need Him, His word, His grace, His mercy! What a wonderful saviour!
My heart has been dwelling around Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
I think many times we forget that Jesus is not some lofty figure that sits in heaven on a white throne, seeking judgement on weak believers. Ohhh friend, He is a great High Priest that has dealt with every temptation, discouragement, fear, concern, inner battles, struggles, lack, and hurt. Here is a secret that most forget, even though He did not sin, He knows what you are and will go through, because He Himself did. And guess what? He still loves you and desires to lead and help you through you journey. WOW what a blessed assurance, so friends we need Him. Listen to this song, and meditate on this passage, God will build and renew your strength and prepare you for whatever you may face today!
