Several years ago I met Sue, in an odd setting and in difficult circumstances, our relationship had limits and boundaries that were a blessing from God though we didn't recognize this at first. I met Sue during a time in my life that I was so consumed with Jesus, growing in the spirit and grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. My heart was hot for Jesus and I wasn't sure if there was room for another romance, I only wanted Jesus! However, the Lord showed me something in His word that I want to encourage everyone with this morning. He shared with me Psalm 37:4- Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart! You see God knew my desires, because my heart was now sold out to Him, He could lead my heart for His best. Several years passed and as Sue and I prepared to say our wedding vows I couldn't help but remember as we stood in front of the pastor the verse that God brought to life for me. You see disappointments in life come, dreams diminish but the miracle of Gods gift to me still remains and blesses me each day with her grace, beauty and charm.
I was reminded the other day, what I had engraved in Sues wedding ring, it is the verse that embodies what Sue means to me.. it is Psalm 37:4-- she is the desire of my heart. I encourage spouses today to make sure you let your loved one know what they mean to you. My love for Sue was flamed by the fact that she saw Jesus in me when not many people did, what flamed your love for your bride or husband? Revisit that today and watch the joy multiply in your marriage! Be blessed today and remember that you relationship with your mate is a mirror of your relationship with you master.

ReplyDeleteYour sharing this morning brought me right back there with you, several years back, in the middle of such a tremendous challenge...yet... you are so wrong! :) Everyone who knew the Lord at the time SAW JESUS IN YOU! Those who did not know Him, just sensed there was something REALLY different and special about you and just could not put their finger on it!!! :-) I keep on praying that you would always hear the Lord remind you what HE has already brought you through when you face the set backs and disappointments that life will bring from time to time...knowing in your heart that even though you may not understand "why?" or like it.... this too HE WILL USE FOR YOUR GOOD AND HIS GLORY! In my heart dear Shawn you are the son I have never had and I thank God everyday for the blessing of bringing you and Sue into my life! Be blessed and protected always. monique
