The Passion for Christ

Friends,

Those of you may know that I have been blessed to start a bible doing as I like to call it, because I like to focus on being a doer of the word and not a hearer only. This class started on Wed night January 20th entitled Who I am in Christ. I was blessed to see 10 people come to the class and they were hungry for Gods word. The focus of the lesson was on Colossi ans 3:1-4, If you then be risen with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ sits at the right hand of God, set your affections on things above, not on things of the earth. This was a very heart challenging statement for those that desire more of God and less of themselves. Living for Jesus and having Jesus live through you requires that our affections (deep passions and love) be on things above. After teaching this lesson the Holy Spirit ministered to my heart one statement, " If my affections are on things above my life would reflect the character of Christ." Friends, if we are to make a difference in this world and in the lives of those around us we have to ask ourselves where do our passions and affections lie. To be Christlike means that a sacrifice must be made, what is that sacrifice? It is simply that our affections would live and die each day with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May your heart and actions reflect the affections of our hearts, through this will we truly know where our affections lie. Be blessed and may your hearts be filled with the passion of Christ.
