What Has He Given to You to do?

As I spend time with the Lord this morning, I cant help but feel a burden for a hindrance of Spirit that I felt was present at the weekly Bible study last night. The lesson was solid, the theology sound but I felt as if the Spirit of God was somewhat hindered. I ferverently prayed this morning about it and the Lord led me to Matthew 25:14-30 where Jesus gives the parable of the talents. A brief summary is that the owner of the servants gave each person something to do, money to multiply and something that was of worth to be obedient in. Two men were faithful one was not! The one that was not faithful had taken away from him that which was given to him and the talent was given to the other two men. What does all of this mean you say? I feel strongly in my spirit that when God gives you something to do and when you do like the one man and keep it to yourself then He will find someone else to do that work for Him. I am not saying that God gives up on you but He looks for faithfulness and when we are faithful in the little things He will entrust us with much. You see the Holy Spirit has placed strongly on my heart a neighbor of mine that is lost. He placed it in my heart yesterday and gave me an opportunity to speak to him. I was so anxious to get to my class that I sat on the leading to speak to him and said to myself that I would do it another day. What if this man didn't live another day, what if I did not live another day?? I believe that it is in our obedience that God shows us more of Himself, I don't want to teach this class with head knowledge, the people that will come to this class don't deserve that, they deserve the spirit of the living God to fall fresh and that can only happen as the leader is obedient to the leadings that God gives. As a leader in your own spectrum of the world whether it be family, work, friendships etc. Is there something that God has shown you to do? His Spirit will fall on a people that are obedient and as 2 Chronicles 16:9 declares- For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. May we be a people that does what God shows us to do, it is in this that we will see God move in ways that are beyond what we could ask or think. Putting off what God has placed on your heart leads to doing things in our own timing and this leads to doing it in our own strength! Do we want outcomes that we conjure up or do we want the results of God being all over situations?  Be blessed my friends! You are ambassadors for Christ and my prayer is that obedience will come out of love for Jesus in our lives!
