There is one resounding theme that the Holy Spirit keeps placing in my heart this morning and that is the day that He touched me! I have sit in quiet adoration since 4:30 this morning and pondered on the day that He touched me! When was that day for you? In this story of Matthew two people are touched by the hand that parted the seas, raised the dead, took the nails, created the universe! That is pretty heavy stuff:) I want to proclaim that there are two bi products of a touch from Jesus.
- The leper was cleansed. 1-3
- Peters mom ministered to others. 14-15
I pray that as a Christian people that we will never get over the day that He touched us, because it is in this remembrance daily that we are able to live a life of purity because the leprosy in our lives HAS BEEN WASHED AND REMOVED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB!!! It is in this remembrance that we are able to minister to others the love and the power of restoration and redemption. Read these verses and let it take you back to that day that Jesus touched you. For me it was in a time in my life that I was literally at the bottom of sin and shame. Folks HE TOUCHED ME, HE TOUCHED ME O HE TOUCHED ME! The leprosy in our lives can be forever cleansed, that thing that is keeping you from ministering to others can be vanquished. For Peters Mom it was a fever, what is it for you and me?? For the leper it was a physical infirmity, what do you need to be cleansed from? A touch from Jesus can and will do mighty works. I am reminded that in both of these peoples lives two themes are the same: They were both in the presence of Jesus when they were touched! Friend if you get into the presence of Jesus, He will touch you in a way that is sometimes unexplainable, immeasurable, inconceivable and forever unbelievable! Be touched today!
