Separation in Gods Creation

There is something that keeps pulling me back to Genesis 1 and the creation account. I am beginning to see more of Gods character in our spiritual lives through this and I want to continue to share this with you. Yesterday I shared that the first day of creation centered around God dividing light from darkness, the second day continues with this theme! However, something grasped my heart this morning from Genesis 1:6- AND GOD SAID," Let there be a sky and water and he then DIVIDED the two." God said keeps ringing in my heart, it made me ask myself the question," What has God said to you?" What we have to understand is that the water, sky, and land are all subject to the word of God and have no choice but to obey. We are different however and are strong willed to be our own god at times and do what we say rather than what God speaks. If we could weave into the fabric of our DNA the passion to do what what God says to us then we could be just like all that God created, fulfilling he purpose and assignment that He has mandated for each of us. Gods character is to make something out of nothing through His word! However, there is a division or a separation that He calls us to in order that we can see God move powerfully in our lives. Do you know why we stay in the same place in our spiritual lives, growth in Christ, and even in relationships?? It is because we are unwilling to do what the sky and the waters did in Genesis 1:6- They moved when God spoke!! They separated and that is what God calls us to do! You see the land, sky and water didn't belong in the same place. To reach the plans that God had for them, they had to separate! Look at this verse from

2 Corinthians 6:17 (Amplified Bible)

17So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor.

When the world is hopeless we are to be hopeful, when all around us is joyless we are to be joyful, when people around us are faithless we are to be faithful!!! Different, changed, separate, are all words that are not comfortable at times, but the power of God rests in moving on Gods word! A paint brush and bucket full of paint is a great asset if you are painting, but if you don't pick up the brush and apply the paint, there is no change to the canvas! Today let us be a people of Gods word, what has He spoke to your heart to do??
