The Tongue Again!

This past week Pastor Johnny Hunt blessed me with the word he spoke concerning the power of the tongue. I had several thoughts concerning this but none more than what has been on my heart as of late concerning the power of our words. Listen to this verse from Proverbs 12:14- 14From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest. THe first thing that grabbed my heart was the word fruit- whenever I see the word fruit in the bible I can not help but think of another word that goes along with it and that is the word SEED. You see if a fruit is manifested there had to be a seed that was invested. The words of our mouth have creative power, Jesus in Matthew 21:18-22 gives us an example of this when he cursed the fig tree and it died. I have noticed my words more as of late and want to rid them of anything that is not faith filled! Something came to my remembrance that I used to do several years ago, I used to confess scripture over Sue and I and the blessings of God over our life daily. I have seen these come to pass over the years and I believe it was because the seed of Gods word was spoken over our lives and the fruit of His blessings have manifested in our lives. I found a great passage if you want to use it for confession over your own life or over the life of someone else. I have replaced the addressing of the passage to personalize it to me.

Psalm 21:1-7

O LORD, I rejoice in your strength.
       How great is my joy in the victories you give!
 2 You have granted me the desires of my heart
       and have not withheld the request of my lips.
       Selah

 3 You welcomed me with rich blessings
       and placed a crown of pure gold on my head.

 4 I asked you for life, and you gave it to me—
       length of days, for ever and ever.

 5 Through the victories you gave, my glory is great;
       you have bestowed on me splendor and majesty.

 6 Surely you have granted me eternal blessings
       and made me glad with the joy of your favor.

 7 For I trust in the LORD;
       through the unfailing love of the Most High
       I will not be shaken.

Let us use faith filled words today! If you have mountains in your way speak to them the words of life! Do you have problems so big that they are crowding and choking you out? It is time to stop telling God how big your problems are and start telling your problems how big your God is!! He can move mountains, but the words of our mouth produce the seeds that produce the fruit of the TNT that will demolish the mountain!! Be blessed and know that you are more than a conqueror!!

  1. WOW, this is awesome and I agree wholeheartedly. It took God taking me to Okla for 2 years to learn this regarding our words...we can either speak blessings or curses over ourself and/or our family....
    Deut 6:5-7 And thou shalt love the Lord th God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by thy way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

    AND NOW ON THE INTERNET...Hallalujah!!! Praise His Holy Name!!!

    Deut 11:26-28 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

    Deut 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou ccomest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

    AMEN. Thank you for your ministry...Be Blessed. Mary Jo Harper, Cisco, GA
