Last night as the Cheek family went out to dinner Leah was in rare form. My little girl was laughing, playing, talking and just being the center of attention. Many people noticed our time together and there was a group of guys sitting right next to us. These guys were probably in their mid 20's and I heard one of them say something that warmed my heart. He said to the other guys," It is so refreshing to see a Dad with the family and spending time with his little girl and wife." I thought about something as I was in my quiet time this morning. 1 Timothy 4:12- Be thou and example of the believers, in word, conversation, love, spirit, faith and purity. The word that caught my attention was the word love. This word has been coming up in my quiet time as of late and I thought to myself that I love my family so much that there is no where else I would rather be than with my girls. I don't want to do things on my vacation that takes me away from my girls. They bring me so much joy and fulfilment. I pray that to those young men that saw us as a family spending time together and that we were examples of believers- those that chose to first love God and each other in a way that is not selfish, but kind and passionate. Sometimes we can preach a sermon without saying words!
