Your Garden of Eden

What a revelation the word of God brings to my life at times, I am so blessed to have this blessed book in my life! I have a great word for all of you this morning, there are times that I can not help but share the revelation that the Lord breathes into my heart and this is one of them! Genesis 2:15- And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. First thing that I want to share with you is the blessedness of God placing us into a place of supreme blessings. Did you know that as a child of God you have been given everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Did you know that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3)? This is the nature of wonderful savior! He desires for us to be blessed and to live in the Garden of Eden, the place where we are supplied with His provisions, engulfed with His presence, and in authority over the surroundings of life. However, there are two words that I want you to look at, and as a teacher of Gods word I break words down so bear with me :) Dress it and keep it are two words that caught my attention- each one of us have a Garden of Eden that the Lord has placed us in to dress and to keep, what do I mean? The garden of your purity, the garden of your leadership, the garden of your devotion to the Master has to be dressed. The word dressed in the Hebrew means to develop or work. You see we have to develop and to work in our gardens, we do this by developing our relationship with the Lord, deep plowing of GOds word in our heart, propagation of Gods spirit in our life, sowing the seed of obedience in our life. WOW what a place to be  as the the Lord strengthens and empowers us with His spirit!
The next word is to KEEP- this word means to guard. We have insight to the first account of spiritual warfare taking place! What did Adam need to guard his Garden from?? Well we all know the answer to that one- the enemy that comes to steal kill and destroy. We have to guard our hearts, guard our actions, words and thoughts against the enemy that desires to sow weeds in the Garden of our lives. HOwever, thanks be to God that gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! I believe that today we can all begin to develop and guard the garden of Eden in our lives. Adam dropped the ball on this one, I pray that we will take a stand today in our gardens and begin to taste and see that the Lord is good!
