WOW! There are times in life that a word speaks to my heart in such a way that it can not be forgotten! This morning I have received that word, it has been something that I have been thinking about for several weeks now but have fully grasped it this morning.
James 4:13-14 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes
Many of us do not need to be reminded that life is short and that we are not here forever, I guess what brought this truth to my heart was last night as Sue and I were looking at some pictures of Leah. We noticed how fast she is growing and how her life is changing before our eyes. The word of God brings us into reality if we grasp it, this word describes our lives as vapors in the wind. My friend this past Sunday reminded all of us that we will not take anything with us when we leave this earth, only that which we have done for the Lord will be brought into eternity. I can get caught up in material things and duties so much that I lose focus on what is really important in life, my relationship with my King should reign supreme! Friends He is who we will be with forever and He is the only one that can make our vapors mean something significant here on earth. I challenge you to slow down today and think about what is really important. I posed a list of questions to our Sunday school class this past week concerning our passions and what we are seeking in this life, my question to all of us today is are we seeking self or seeking the Savior? Be blessed my friends and know that I am honored to speak into your life.
