Priority Shift!

I have been reading the book by David Platt as of late entitled," Radical" and it has brought me to some tough realizations in my own life. The book has challenged me in many ways but more importantly it has given me a new spark for Gods word and the truths that this blessed book holds. I started reading from Genesis and plan to read through the Word of God over the following weeks and devour the life changing statutes that can be transforming. One of the truths that has rocked my world is found in Genesis 3, and it is the account of Adam, Eve and the serpent. If you get a chance to read that chapter I want you to think about this theme- WHEN DID SIMPLY KNOWING, WALKING, AND LIVING FOR GOD BECOME NOT ENOUGH? The fulfillment of daily life, the purpose that we are called to, and the joy of knowing Him reigned supreme in the garden of Eden. What happened? I can tell you what happened, it is the same thing that happens to many believers ( Me Included) as they walk daily in a world that tells you that your self worth is in what you do and the title you have, it the same serpent that comes to us and leads us away from passion for our Lord  by choking out the purpose to simply walk with Jesus day by day where joy is unlimited. The serpent comes to us in forms of lust, forbidden fruit, promotions that take us away from our families, money that is to be made but must cause us to compromise our passion for the Lord. Remember that Adam and Eve had what they needed, they had jobs and companionship---- but there is something in us that cries out for more of what God is trying to protect us from--- passionless worship and complacent Christianity is a place that I find myself in and I want to take a stand, to go back to the Garden where God is enough, where His word is my bread and His presence is why I live. Not for a job, not for things, not for titles or promotions--- but for my King, my Savior and my Lord! What could happen if we grasped this, if we went back to the Garden and lay face down before the Lord--- He is enough for me! Check this song out, what truth!
Psalm 42:1- As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God!
