Salvation isn't hard!

John 1:12- But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, to them that believe on His name!
I have struggled as of late as to the salvation experience that I had at the age of 13 years old!You see I had a life changing experience 10 years ago that brought me to the place of surrender to the Lord Jesus and His will for my life. So which one was my actual salvation experience? The above verse came to my heart when I thought of my salvation experience at 13, AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM. Romans 6:23- the gift of God is eternal life. What is it about being an adult that makes us complicate things? As I see it through the word of God is this: Jesus was a gift for those to receive and if we receive it we become sons and daughters of God! This brings us to John 10:28- I give unto them eternal life, and they will never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand! So if we receive the gift of God which is Jesus and we become sons and daughters of God that has eternal life, and we have Gods promise that we can not lose our power as sons and daughters of God then this should be enough right? It should be! I have been getting into my own head as of late asking questions like, " Did I understand what sin was?" Did I know what sin cost me etc?" We can not do anything to get to God except believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and then we will be saved! At age 13 I called on Jesus, at a youth camp in Mississippi, why? Because the gospel was given and I responded in faith to it. I didn't know the theology of sin and all of the mysteries of the Bible, but I did know that Jesus was sent to save that which was lost and that my sin separated me from God and that I needed forgiveness. Jesus, the name above all names! He is the one that saves, not our understanding , Jesus is the one that died so that we may live! So if you are confused about when you were saved, ask yourself this. When was the hour that I believed? John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life! Jesus did the hard part, He died so that we may live and all we have to do is beleive. It is not necessary that we understand everything, it is not biblical to think that we have to have it all understood mentally! What is necessary is that we have a heart that wants a saviour, that calls on Him, this is salvation!
You may not always live for your Heavenly Father but as the prodigal son in Luke 15:12-32 teaches us, we never quit being sons! Listen to this song, it will bless you!
