Continue

I once had a hitting coach tell me something that comes back to my remembrance this morning as I learn a valuable lesson from Romans 6:1-2. I remember having a pretty rough stretch where I was not hitting the ball very good, my batting average decreased and my usefulness to the team diminished. He asked me, " Are you going to CONTINUE to swing at bad pitches?" You see I had gotten in a habit of swinging at pitches out of the strike zone and it caused me to be unsuccessful as a batter.

Romans 6:1-2 says- What, shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid, how shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer in it?
I felt the Lord showing me this morning that we are going to continue doing something, you see we are going to continue living, breathing, dying and following something. The question is," Are we going to continue swinging at bad pitches?" The Bible says that we are dead to sin, we are dead to sins grasp, sins power, sins strongholds, sins bondage!This means we are dead to sins bi products of worry, fear, anxiety, depression, lack and being ruled by our flesh. However, we have to decide to stop swinging at the pitches satan throws us and stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We don't have a sin problem if we have accepted Christ, we only have a decision problem. Lets decide today to continue living as though dead to sin, but alive in Christ! Walk in joy, faith, hope, assurance, that God is making a way, He loves you and wants the best for you! He takes care of the birds in the air, He holds you as the apple of His eye. Continue to walk with Jesus, continue to seek Him, continue to move with God, not your flesh. Oh how He loves you and me!
