Dominion
Romans 6:8-10
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
The key word I want you to notice today is the word DOMINION! It is used several times throughout scripture, however, Paul uses it here as a strong word to help us realize one important truth as we live in a world that glorifies sin. Here it is, are you ready? SIN NO LONGER RULES! It no longer has dominion! When people used to ask me," How are you doing?" I used to say the following phrase alot," I'm battling, satan is alive and well, but I'm trying." That was a defeated and ignorant statement I would make, why? Because if I have Jesus living in me, sin no longer has dominion, satan no longer controls me like a puppet! Sin is broken, defeated, Jesus Christ has risen, He is Lord of all, He has all might, power, dominion and rules.
If we know that we have died with Christ, we also must understand that we live with Him! Not in the sweet by and by but right now! This is revelation knowledge if we grab it! Will we struggle? Of course, but if we can get in our hearts that Jesus has dominion over sin and death and we have the risen Lord actively living in our hearts, we to have dominion over struggles, strongholds, desires, fear, worry, and anything satan tries to convince us of!
Oh what a wonderful saviour! I have been guilty of seeing Jesus as a stoic figure, in the heavens for me to fully enjoy one day! No more, He is inside thee, He is walking with you! Wanting to carry you, fill you with joy and peace! Dominion! A powerful word if we apply it to the proper person! Not satan, but Jesus has all the power, all the dominion, He got up so we could live! Start living today!
By the way as a sidenote, since grasping this verse a while back I have changed something that you may get a kick out of? When I finish writing the blogs I hit the famous spellcheck tab ( Boy do I need it!) However, spellcheck always highligts satans name and wants me to capitalize it, since he has no power or authority I dont! :)

Good one! While we must believe that satan does have power it is us that usually give it to him. It's a great reminder that just the sound of Jesus' name out of our mouths takes ALL power from satan.
