Not my Will but thy WIll
I had a word on my heart this morning as I got ready for the day, it was such a drawing to get into the word and let the word minister to my heart! It was found in Luke 22:42- Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane faced with the cross and the uncomfortable situations that would lead Him to it. Jesus said these words," Father if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not MY WILL BUT THY WILL BE DONE"
What can we draw from these words from Jesus? Well, in a world that is selfish, has a right of entitlement, and desires more of their own desires, it is contrary to the worlds ways! Their is something that can settle into our hearts if we are not careful--- the words grumbling and complaining can set up a camp in our lives and poison the rest of our lives!
Jesus who could have left the path of the cross, stayed on it and was submissive to Gods will! I can tell you that I struggle with this, I want my will and want to throw away the cup that God has given me to drink at times. I want to fill it with the world and the worlds prestige, but my heart this morning is that I will be thankful for whatever cup God gives me to drink! To be thankdful that the Lord has even given me a cup!I want to share a couple quotes from Boyd Bailey, Salvation in Christ and having a relationship with Him is enough for a lifetime of contentment and gratitude! Rememeber that a heavenly focus puts into perspective earthly expectations
Bitterness, grumbling and complaining that others seem to get ahead in life, is an area that we should guard against. This is the stealer of joy and the enemies way of belittling Gods work in your life. Today lets give thanks, if all you can do sometimes is praise Him for salvation, this is enough that could last a lifetime! Because lets face it, salvation lasts for eternity! HALLELUJAH

I adore you and love you more than this "comment" can express. What a vital truth that we must apply to our lives...a life of thanksgiving and praise for what He has given us. Going through "life" and situations only makes us grow stronger together. Just think, we will be teaching our children these same truths as they grow up and "life is not fair" or when they are confused of God's will for thier lives. Praising God that I have you to conquer "life" with and raise our children as God leads us.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember, you have two girls at home (and soon a little man) who absolutely adore you. :)
I am so loving these blogs. Every single one seems to be the right word for the moment. Thanks for being steadfast in this and sharing your growth! PS - I love the new pictures :-)
