"Look at Me"

Isiah 45:22
Look unto me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Here's a great reminder this morning! To set this up for you, I will tell you a story from one of my baseball lesson students. I have a 7 year old that I am teaching hitting to, now mind you he is like most 7 year olds, the attention span is about 15 minutes and then there is 45 more minutes to try and keep him engaged! He is doing really well, and picking up a lot of what I am trying to share with him. However, there is a phrase that I have to continually voice to him. I say about every 3-5 minutes," Look at me." You see he is much more concerned with the birds in the air, the baseballs on the ground, the other players that are around or even how far he can spit :). But I will tell you that  when his focus is on me, and he looks at me, we get a lot accomplished and we stay connected!

I thought of this when running this morning and I can thank my 7 year old for showing me a valuable lesson in my spiritual walk! You see I am 38 years old and the Lord has to moment by moment say,"  Look at ME." I get distracted with duties, cares of the world, my emotions and my will. But when I pay attention to the Lord I get a lot accomplished and we stay connected! The verse says if we look to Him, we will be saved! We all need to be saved from something! Discouragement, pride, anxiety, depression, a certain sin etc...

Remember John 15:5- I am the vine you are the branches, he that abides in me and I him bears much fruit but without Him we can do nothing! So today, turn your eyes upon Jesus. In the car on the way to work, in the solitude of a bathroom, in your office, or on your knees in prayer, turn them on Jesus! You will get much accomplished and will stay connected with what He would have you to do and be! I'm learning this and I have my 7 year old student to thank for it! Be blessed
