Wait on the Lord

I couldn't shake this song this morning so I wanted to share it with you, I have played it over and over again as I think about all that God has already done for me. I fell under conviction because I have fallen into a deserving type of attitude, thinking I deserve this or that. However, God has done so many wonderful things in my life and is even doing them now! They are not what I have in my mind, but they are exactly what God has on His heart for me. I have found much peace in this as I wait and rest on the Lord!

Ok the Lord is showing me so many truths on this wait and rest thing! :) This is probably one of the most difficult things to do in this society. Because of the continual ease at which we are able to get things. Computers, fast food, cars, planes, etc...

Psalm 37:7- Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him!
In the NASB the word most often translated “wait” in the sense of waiting on the Lord is the Hebrew qavah.Qavah means (1) “to bind together” (perhaps by twisting strands as in making a rope), (2) “look patiently,” (3) “tarry or wait,” and (4) “hope, expect, look eagerly.”
I want you to focus on the word bind together ! This is a new perspective for me, I look at waiting as something you do by yourself! However, this word shows us that it is actually a binding together with God! That is exciting because it is in this time that we feel as if we are alone, that everyone else is moving forward while we are being left behind. Not true friend, this is a lie from the enemy, God is with you through this and it is actually a bonding experience with Him! So today will you chose to draw closer to God while you wait and bond with Him? What a blessed truth, what a different way to look at things...
When one of these situations comes up chose to say, " Its time to bond with Jesus, we are forming a strong rope that can never be broken."

  • Maybe you are in a job situation that’s really tough to endure and you are waiting and hoping that conditions will change for the better.
  • Maybe you are without a job and waiting for news on an application.
  • Maybe you are ill (or have a loved one who is) and waiting for your health to improve.
  • Maybe you are on a diet and waiting for your weight to drop a few pounds.
  • Or maybe you are waiting for your spouse or child to become interested in spiritual things.
