People or Possessions

I love reading through the Acts… It is how we should ACT as believers… My heart is refreshed by the power of God moving through the lives of ordinary people like you and I. Lives submitted to His Lordship can do mighty deeds!

However, what grabbed me this morning was not the deeds done but rather the heart changes that took place. Acts 2:42-47 gives us the account of the people devoting themselves to the word of God, fellowship and meeting needs. 

This happens when people make more of Jesus than the world, possessions, jobs, entertainment etc… 

When our minds are full of Gods word and not the world, when our hearts are full of love for Christ instead of lust for more things, when our lives are submitted to Gods will instead of the worlds leading, this is when we make a difference in the lives of others. 

Devotion can submit itself to many things… What will we chose?
