I am excited about this word that I have been studying this morning! I prayed to the Lord this morning and asked Him," How can I stay in your presence continually throughout the day?" With snow on the way and a day full of duties and distractions from the things of God there has to be a way that the presence of the Holy Spirit can abide and dwell with me!!! I want more of Jesus in the details of my life, more of Him in the second by second living of my life!
He led me to Joshua 6 and the story of the walls of Jericho falling down. HOwever, I was more interested in the way the children of Israel went about their day. THe bible says that as they marched around the city two things took place. Listen to these verses, 6:8- And it was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the LORD went forward and blew the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. I am not sure if you caught it but let me give you a quick breakdown of this verse. The priests were Levitical priests and they were in charge of WORSHIP AND PRAISE! The ark of the covenant was where the PRESENCE OF GOD DWELT! Oh my goodness!! If we can get a song in our hearts today and sing it continually the presence of the Lord will follow us continually. Verse 13 says that the ark of the Lord went on CONTINUALLY. This is getting gooder and gooder :) Many times we are waiting on the walls of Jericho in our lives to fall down but if we can enjoy the presence of God while we wait on the move of God the peace and joy that this brings, because in His presence is fullness of joy! My song today will be Our God is an awesome God! Listen to this rendition if you can by Hillsong and Michael W.Smith. I can imagine the children of Israel marching and singing this as the people of Jericho laughed and made fun of them. But the walls fell! Your walls of discouragement, fear, anxiety and complacency will fall as you sing with your hearts to the Lord! Be blessed.
