A Bible Study from the Blind Man

Heart changing and life altering is the power of Gods word, I am touched beyond measure by the story of the blind man in John 9. It is to lengthy to put into the blog but if you can read the chapter you will get a full picture of the story. I actually found this you tube video that I have placed at the end of this blog and if you can watch it I know that it will impact your heart. I have watched it countless times and can not help but let tears flow. I was like this man, I WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE! There are several things in this chapter that I would draw your attention to but none more important that Jesus words in verse 5- As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world! The religious leaders passed by this man day after day, but the bible says in verse 1 that Jesus (Eldos) a greek word meaning behold, be aware, consider, know, understand, the blind man and desired to give him light in the darkness. This grasps my heart, to know that Jesus (eldos) my hurts, pains, uncertainties, fears or anything that keeps me from living in light, joy, peace, love and the utter security that comes from being able to see. The key here is to keep Jesus in your own personal world! Everyday we have the choice to allow Jesus to lead, guide and control the world of our lives and families. Jesus said I am the light of the world. Light penetrates darkness, dispels the gothic blackness of our fears, but only if He is in our world. Let us not look at the world in the big spectrum, but look at the world that we have daily. I have been where this blind man was, I have been so broken and so hurt and blind that there was no one that could fix me other than Jesus, other than miracle, o He touched me! There is nothing that Jesus can not bring light to and nothing that He does not notice. What a great assurance and hope that this brings, Oh God let us not be like the religious leaders of Jesus time, to see only the clean and perfect creatures and vessels but to see the hurt, broken and unclean vessels that are in need of light. Jesus if we are blind to others, please O king open our eyes and let us see! Thank you for giving us light, please let me always be aware of you in my world!
