Have you ever been so discouraged that you wanted to throw in the towel on what God promised you that He would do in your life?? It could be a certain area of struggle that you have prayed for God to help you overcome, it could be a position that you have prayed for or a ministry that you desire so passionately to be a part of (this one is mine:) But the promise or the reality seems to never come to pass. I have been a little discouraged as of late because every time I try to get into a jail or prison to minister, the doors are closed and the ones that are the spiritual leaders in those places seem to see me as a threat instead of an addition. I was lead to Hebrews 6:12-DO not be slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. THis is an encouraging word to me, the promise of God will come but we have a part to play in the process. Faith and patience are two of the ingredients that are hard to apply to the mixture of our spiritual lives but are vial to the outcome of what Gods best for us is. Be faithful where you are and what you are doing, the promise will come in due season. Its hard to remember that when a door is shut or an opportunity is nullified, however, Gods promises are sure and you will reap if you faint not!
