It is a wonderful thing to have the word of God speak to you in a profound way! As I am revisiting the "love chapter" in 1 Corinthians I am digging deeper into the meanings of the words that were written to the church to help them live and love as Jesus did. Today I am on the word Kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4- love is kind- it is a greek word chresteuomal which has an interesting meaning, the word means to show oneself useful! I find this interesting because the only way that we can show kindness is to meet a need in someone's life. Whether it be a word that is used to encourage, a card that is meant to show feeling or a prayer with someone that is linking them to Jesus. The act of usefulness promotes kindness and meets the needs of someone in their life. One of the things that I used to do on a very regular basis is to write my wife letters, notes and cards that show her and meet the need of devotion and love in her life. I have not done that as of late, my kindness has lost its luster, however, I want to challenge each of you to show kindness in a unique way today. GOds word brings a new outlook on this because of the meaning of the word kind, to be useful, it is easy to say we are kind, but are we being useful? God bless you my friends, kindness is love expressed in a useful way, will you be useful today??
