Lessons from Adam

There are many things that the Lord can show you when you are running at 4:45 a.m. if you can wake up and pay attention :) I don't know where the discipline is coming from for me to be able to get up 5 days a week and run early in the morning? Maybe it is because Sue and I are going on a cruise in a few weeks and I need to lose some pounds so that the ship is safe from sinking :) I don't think that this is the case though, rather the Lord has been truly blessing my prayer time as I run and meditate on the needs of others. Today as I got into the word the Holy Spirit led me to Genesis 3 but specifically verse 9. Satan had just deceived Eve and the embarrassed couple had hidden themselves and covered themselves to try to mask their lawlessness. Then God asked them something that I want you and I to meditate on and answer today, God asked in verse 9- And the Lord God called unto Adam and said to him,  " ADAM WHERE ARE YOU?" Now I want to focus on the men folk for just a minute, even though ladies this is for you as well. God focused His questioning on the Man that was created to lead and to protect his family and Gods creation. I had to ask myself this question this morning, Where are you Shawn in these areas, men I challenge you to ask the same:
Where are you:

• In your passion for the Lord
• As a ( husband, father, sibling etc.)
• In your purity
• Involvement with your family

 
These are simple questions that may give you a kick start to your week to grow and to develop into the man of God the Lord has created you to be. When I started running the reasons for running were because I realized how out of shape I was. I did not realize how lazy and undisciplined I had become and how my family needed me to have more energy and to be healthier for them. I am challenged by Gods word today to do the same. Start today, exercising your spiritual muscles , your family is depending on you to be the leader, protector and example of growth that they may need to motivate them to do the same. I know that I have found new direction because of the word of the Lord, WHERE ARE YOU SHAWN?" He can grow us and shape us, I never thought that I could run the length that I am running now, it is because I have dedicated myself to doing this discipline, I want to do the same in my spiritual walk with the Lord. Will you join me?
