In the Pit?

For those of you that are in a time of waiting, waiting on God to do something in your professional life, personal life, physical life, relationally, emotionally and any other circumstance that may cause you to be discouraged. Here is a story of one that had his dreams seemingly placed on hold. God has destined you for something, do you know what it is? Sometimes we do not know unless we go through the times of the pit! "What are you saying?" you might ask? Turn with me to Genesis 37, the story of Joseph and the way his brothers cast him into the pit.

Verse 20
Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. Then we will say that a fierce animal has devoured him, and we will see what will become of his dreams

The brothers were jealous of what God was showing Joseph, the favor he had with his father and the gifts and talents he was blessed with! Notice their words of oppression, these words are satans words to you and I today as we live for Jesus. What has God placed on your heart, what has He shown you that you are capable of? Satan uses life, circumstances, people and even our own complacency to throw us into a pit! However, Gods plan for Joseph was to go through this pit of despair so to speak, this was Josephs preparation for his presentation to Gods best for him. Later on in this chapter Josephs journey was as a slave, then as a servant, and ultimately as a prince!

Joseph, a name we all know, but did you know that his journey is similar to many of us that seem to be oppressed, held back, thrown into a pit! Name your pit, ( discouragement, anxiety, pain, etc.) Use this time to be prepared, you see in this pit in verse 24- the bibles says that the pit lacked water and was empty! You may be in this pit right now, feeling empty, feeling thirsty of more of the God life has for you? Do what Joseph did, he trusted Gods flow of events! Oh friend, God has His eye on you! He hasn't forgotten you, hasn't left you, hasn't destined you to be in the pit forever! He has an assignment, a purpose, all you have to do is trust in the journey! But remember in this journey you are not alone!
Enjoy this song, its a good one!
