The weekend definitely went by way to fast! My heart was joyful in the fact that I was able to slow down and spend some much needed time with my wonderful family, however, my heart was heavy for some very close friends of ours that are going through a difficult time. As I ran this morning, the words to the song, Great is Thy Faithfulness kept coming to my spirit. So I read from the Psalms the following verses:
Let them meditate in your heart, no matter where you are, His words are true.Trust in them and hold onto them!
Psalm 36:5-9
5 Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.
What a blessed assurance! As we start this Monday with so many things on our plates, let us start the week off with a remembrance of His heart towards us!
The word that caught me was the word FAITHFULNESS! In a world that faithfulness is laughed at and even looked at as outdated, my God is forever faithful! His faithfulness doesn't end with the nightfall, or wimper when times are tough, it is forever reaching towards us! Sometimes we forget this when things don't go our way or when we lose sight of Him. But friend He is there! He is faithful even when we are not! It is in His DNA, it is in His every delight, faithful!
May our hearts fall into line with this attribute, help us Lord to be faithful! Encourage hurting hearts today, remind them of Your faithfulness. Rescue those that are in despair, from the prison of their minds and emotions , You fail not, lift them up on Eagles wings oh Lord, for with You is the fountain of life, in thy light shall they see light!
