I NEED THEE!

As I look at my own life and see the things I have in them, I see an area that I need to re evaluate my NEED meter in. Sue and I have been talking a lot about finances and what are needs and wants are in regards to this crucial part of marriage and life. I came to a strong conviction this morning in my quiet time as I read Acts 3:1-16 and the story of the lame man at the gate called Beautiful! You see there is a difference in what we need and what we want. However, when we truly engage Jesus and others we want and need Jesus!!!! Because He is the difference.

The lame man was once all of us, maybe still in some of us because of an area that has not been given the NAME of Jesus to take over and transform? We think we need things that bring comfort, joy, pleasure, satisfaction and desire. May we NEED the Lord!

As believers, as husbands, wives, church members, mothers and fathers….. may we NEED the Lord, it is what everyone noticed in the man in verse 10- they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

My heart desires for us to be that, in Sunday School, in our workplace, in our families…. People would be filled with wonder and amazement at what has happened to us. This can only take place as we NEED the Lord!

Have we become so self dependent and society dependent that we no longer truly NEED the Lord? If everything was stripped away in our lives would you be ok with just Jesus? Everything God has given us should be submitted to Him, He will bless what we give (remember the 5 loaves and 2 fish)
